Program Description
Summit Academy seeks to add a Transition Counselor for at-risk students to promote academic and social/emotional wellness. This position will facilitate communication between districts, students, and their families to ensure a successful transition for students who are referred to Summit's alternate education program. Summit Academy will also provide trauma-informed group lessons using new curriculums to promote self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. School counselors and social workers will provide culturally relevant and age-appropriate lessons to support skill building and emotional wellness. 350 students will be served annually.
Program Entrance
Students in grade's 6th-12 enter our program as an alternative learning environment from traditional schools. Referrals to Summit Academy are approved through school district administrators.
